EXHIBITIONS

My research activities are augmented by active collaboration with artists and designers on various projects, installations, and public exhibitions that directly inform the scientific process and provide motivation to develop new educational content that conveys the need for creativity in innovation.

SOCnet

SOCnet

This collaborative work with John Carpenter explores emergent, self-organized criticality in complex networks. As viewers interact with the work, their movement charges the environment forming connections and nodes within the virtual system. These connections strengthen and dissipate over time based on the patterns of stimulation (2012-13).

NANO

NANO

This collaboration between LACMALab and a UCLA team of nanoscience, media arts, and humanities experts presented the world of nanoscience through a participatory aesthetic experience in order to explore how art, science, culture and technology influence each other (2004).

HOX Zodiac

HOX Zodiac

This interactive project is inspired by the properties of the Homeobox genes and seeks to create an experiential space that relates the idea that we are all interconnected and share the same gene (2011).

Blue Morph

Blue Morph

BLUE MORPH is a site-specific interactive installation that uses nanoscale images and sounds derived from the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly (2008).
